Hexagon Hexart.in is a free artificial intelligence programme for school and college students, sponsored by Hexagon, delivered by Li2 Edu (Li2 Edu is a brand of Li2 Technologies Private Limited, No. B10, HMT Industrial Estate, Opposite K. V. School, Jalahalli West, Bengaluru 560013, Karnataka, India), with the Innovation and Science Promotion Foundation as corporate social responsibility partner. This page describes what the programme collects about a learner, why, and what a learner or their parent may ask us to do about it.
Information we collect
If you only read the site, we collect nothing about you beyond what any web server records in order to answer a request.
If you fill in one of our public forms, we keep what you typed in it, including your name and email address, so that we can reply.
If you register as a learner, we keep your name, your email address, and a password we cannot read. Before your first course we also ask for your date of birth, gender, mobile number, school or college, level of study, and your student identity number; and we ask you to photograph your school or college identity card. If you are under 18 we ask for a parent or guardian's name. We also ask, and you may decline, your social category and your annual family income.
Why we ask for these things
The programme is funded as corporate social responsibility. That funding is given on the condition that the people it reaches can be described and accounted for, so we have to be able to show that a certificate was earned by a real person and to report on who took part. That is the only reason any of this is collected.
The identity card is compared with the details on your account so that a certificate cannot be issued in somebody else's name. Nothing about your course depends on it: you may learn, take assessments and use the whole site while it is unresolved. Only the certificate download waits.
Social category and annual family income are asked because reports to the funder describe who the programme reached. Both are optional, both carry the option to decline, and declining changes nothing whatever about your course, your assessments or your certificate.
Learners under 18
Most of our learners are children, and the programme runs in schools. We ask for a parent or guardian's name from anybody whose date of birth shows they are under 18, and the declaration a minor accepts is worded as a parent or guardian accepting it on their behalf.
We do not advertise to learners, we do not build profiles of them, we do not track them across other websites, and we do not sell or share anything about them for any commercial purpose.
A parent or guardian may write to us at any time to see everything we hold about their child, to correct it, or to ask us to remove it.
Who sees it
Administrators of the programme, and nobody else. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for anybody's marketing.
Reports to the funder describe the people the programme reached and therefore contain the answers given above. Where a report does not require somebody to be named, it does not name them.
We use one outside service to send email, which necessarily sees the address a message is sent to and what it says. We use no advertising network, no social media tracking and no analytics service that identifies you.
We count visits to the public pages with Google Analytics, in a form that sets no cookie and keeps nothing in your browser to recognise you by. It tells us how many visits a page had, from what kind of device, from which city, and which link people arrived from. It is never told who you are, and nothing you type on this site reaches it.
Social media
We publish to our LinkedIn page through LinkedIn's official API. We do not collect or store LinkedIn members' personal data.
How long we keep it
A certificate, and the record of who earned it, is kept indefinitely, because a certificate that cannot be verified years later is worthless.
The photograph of an identity card is kept as the evidence that a named beneficiary existed, for as long as the programme must be able to account for its funding. It is not deleted once a card has been checked.
Everything else is kept while the programme needs it and no longer.
How it is protected
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored in a form that cannot be read back. Identity card photographs are held outside the public part of the site and are served only to a signed-in administrator, or to the learner who sent them. Every administrator's decision about a learner is recorded.
No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Cookies
One cookie, which remembers that you are signed in. Nothing else. We run no advertising or tracking cookies of any kind. See the cookie policy.
Your rights
You may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw an answer you gave optionally. A parent or guardian may do the same on behalf of a learner under 18.
Deleting everything means a certificate can no longer be verified, so we will tell you what that costs before doing it.
